The Asper MBA program at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada offers flexible options of completing your 60 credit hours of course work in the full time 12 months format or up to 2 years that in its part-time format may take up to 6 years (the average is 3 years).

By way of preparation for the program, Asper offers online preparatory courses, business fundamentals and strategy, and foundations for leadership development using experiential learning methods and critical and creative thinking.

While the program has two entries in January and September. Those intending to complete the program in 12 months need to join in September. Students who qualify for course exemptions will have the advantage of reduced program course load and cost.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess a 3-year Bachelor degree from a recognised educational institution in any discipline

Application deadline for September start is May 1 (March 1 for international student applicants). It is October 1 (July 1 for international student applicants) for January start.

3.0 GPA preferred on the last 60 credit hours of university level study (2.5 minimum). A GMAT (or comparable GRE) score of 500 minimum required though 550 is preferred. The score cannot be older than 5 years.

Applicants holding secondary school diplomas and/or university degrees from certain countries are exempt from the English Language Proficiency Test requirement. If you do not qualify for an exemption, you must provide an official score from one of these accepted tests (score cannot be older than 2 years): IELTS 7.0 on the Academic Module (no band score less than 5; NOTE – Effective July 1, 2017, no band score lower than 6 will be accepted) TOEFL 100 (internet); 600 (paper based) .

Each year, the program admits a small number of highly experienced and gifted individuals who do not hold a baccalaureate degree. These individuals have meaningful work experience, outstanding performance in an alternate program of study, and a strong GMAT score. Preference in filling these limited spaces is given to local applicants.

Applicants who are Canadian citizens/Permanent Residents with transcripts from universities or colleges in countries other than Canada and the United States are advised to apply at least two months prior to the standard deadlines.

Classes are held Monday through Thursday in the afternoons and evenings. It will be all day classes on Friday and Saturday. It is also held all day Saturday and Sunday morning to fit in with certain student schedules.
