Final Placement for the EPGP class of 2016-17 at IIM Bangalore saw the students bagging a mean annual salary of Rs 23.6 lakh and a median annual salary of Rs 22.5 lakh.

Except for one student who did not appear for the placement having decided to start an entrepreneurial venture, the remaining 69 found employment within 3 months of graduation, by June 2017.

They included three students who chose to join their previous employers in new roles and four who accepted off campus offers.

They included regular recruiters, Accenture, AT Kearney, Dell, Ford, Google, and Microsoft, as well as new ones like ABB, Adani, British Telecom, Cognizant Business Consulting, Directi, Hindustan Coca-Cola, MuSigma, Murugappa, Shapoorji Pallonji, and Zensar, among others.

The class comprised 86% male and 14% female students from diverse backgrounds with an average pre-EPGP work experience of 6.5 years.

A highlight of the placement season this time was the changed class profile and the recruiter community’s response. This batch had 2 out of every 3 students coming from a non-IT background, a higher than the usual representation of non-IT students in the EPGP cohort.

This necessitated a change in the recruiter basket to cater to the changed class profile and diverse aspirations of students, with two out of every three recruiters hiring for the first time from EPGP. More than 35 recruiters made successful offers to 69 EPGP students.

The roles offered included Apprentice Leader, GM (Operational Excellence) AVP –Engineering, Head Technology, AVP-Operations, IT Leadership Program, AVP (Startup Incubator Program), Leadership Trainee (Market Operations), Business Consultant, Principal Consultant, Business Manager, Product Manager, City Manager (BD & Operations), Program Manager, Client Sales Representative, Senior Consultant, Consultant-Strategy, Senior Manager-Consulting, Customer Experience Manager and Senior Manager (M&A).

The full-time Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP), IIMB says, is an intensive one-year residential programme created specifically for professionals with remarkable track records and 5 to 12 years of work experience in a wide range of industries.

The program provides students with the same solid foundation in key management concepts and disciplines as a two-year MBA, with similar rigour, a range of electives, and grading criteria.  A key advantage of the EPGP is that the coursework builds on the diverse and extensive work experience of the students.
