Women Comprise 31% of the PGP Class of 2018 at ISB

The one- year Post Graduate Programme (PGP) Class of 2018 at the Indian Business School (ISB) comprises 875 students, 31% of them women.

Their GMAT scores range from 660 to 740 with the mid-range mean at 682 and median at 710. The GRE scores range from 315 to 331 with mid 80% range Mean at 325 and Median at 324.

The maximum 379 students have 3 to 5 years work experience followed by 229 with 5 to 8 years, 219 up to 3 years and 48 with 8 years.

Industry-wise, 19 students are from Consulting, followed by 16 from IT/ITES, 14 from Banks/Financial Institutions/Financial Services, 11 from Manufacturing, 8 from Oil / Energy/ Petroleum/ Minerals and 6 in others.

The picture is completed with 5 each in Marketing & Pharma/ Biotech/ Healthcare/ Hospitals, 4 in FMCG/ Retail/ Consumer Durables, 3 each in Govt./ PSUs/ NGOs/ Forces/ Services and Advertisement/ Media/ Communication/PR/ Entertainment, 2 each in Infrastructure/ Construction/ Real Estate and Telecom and 1 each in Education/ Teaching & Training and Engineering.

Retaining the philosophy of ‘one school – two campuses’, ISB’s admission policy, academic calendar, a mix of resident and visiting faculty (from partner schools) and placement policy has continued to remain common for both the Hyderabad and Mohali campuses.

During the admission process, students are drawn from a common merit list and assigned to either of the campuses in a random manner keeping with the class capacity ratio. There is also an exchange programme between both the campuses to promote interaction between the students. The placement portal is common and recruiters have access to the combined pool of talent.

Function-wise, the Class of 2018 has 17 from Sales & Marketing followed by 13 each from Consulting and Operations, 9 each from Engineering and General Management/ Strategic Planning, 8 from Finance, 7 from Analytics, 6 each from Project Management and Others, 5 from Project Development, 2 from Research & Development and 1 each from Business Research and Technology.
