Economist’s $25,000 scholarship: top mock GMAT test and the money’s yours

The Economist, together with test prep firm GMAT Tutor, recently launched a new MBA scholarship contest for prospective MBA and EMBA students. To take part in the competition, interested applicants must complete the Economist GMAT Tutor simulation test, The top scoring student will receive a $25,000 scholarship to one of 18 top business schools from around the globe. 

While the GMAT is not the sole criterion for admissions to business schools, scoring well on the test is always a great feeling. Now you can give the competitive streak in you an outlet and earn a scholarship in the process.

To participate, simply complete the Economist GMAT Tutor simulation test, which consists of one 75-minute Verbal section and one 75-minute Quant section. The top scoring student will receive a $25,000 scholarship to one of 18 top business schools from around the globe. Sponsor schools include the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, HEC Paris, CEIBS and the Kelley School of Management at Indiana University, among others.

Five runners-up will receive a free subscription to the Economist GMAT Tutor’s Complete Prep course, valued at $550. Interested participants are advised to set aside enough time to complete the entire test in one sitting; there will not be an opportunity to pause once you begin.

The contest began on February 1st and will continue through April 25th. Participants may only take the test one time. A winner will be notified no later than May 31, 2014, and will be granted a period of one year to apply to his or her sponsor school of choice. To receive the prize, the winner must apply to and be admitted at one of the business schools sponsoring the contest.

Eligibility

  • Contest open only to college graduates with a four-year degree who are age 18 or over.

How to Enter

  • Each entrant must complete the full-length (2.5 hour) Economist GMAT simulation test.
  • Each entrant may sign up for and take the test only once.
  • Entrants must be willing to attend one of the sponsor business schools in either 2014 or 2015.

Prize

  • The prize is a USD $25,000 tuition scholarship to a business school of the winner’s choice from among the business schools that are sponsoring this Contest.
  • The total value of the prize is $25,000
