ESMT’s Class of 2017 has 95% International Students, 37% with Business/Management Background

The ESMT one-year, full-time international management MBA program has technology and innovation management, global sustainable business and entrepreneurship as focus areas. The intake is comparatively small, up to 70 students each year, who are put through a rigorous program that runs from January to December.

The Class of 2017 at ESMT Berlin comprises 65 students, 35% of them women. With an average 6.5 years of work experience, their average age is 30 years.

With an overwhelming 95% international students, the class has representatives from 32 countries. Those from Europe form 35% followed by Asia 29%, Latin America 22%, North America 9% and Africa/Middle East 5%.

The countries (in alphabetical order) are: Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, El Salvador, Georgia, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

As far as educational background is concerned, 37% of the class has Business/Management followed by 25% Engineering, 8% each in Natural Sciences and Economics, 6% each in Law and Humanities/Arts, 5% Social Sciences, 3% each in IT/Telecommunication and Others.

In Industry Sectors, 18% of the students come from Financial Services, 17% Energy/Engineering, 15% Manufacturing/FMCG, 12% Other, 11% IT/Telecommunications, 9% Consumer Products, 5% each from Media/Entertainment, Healthcare/Pharma/Bio-Tech and Consulting and 3% Government/Non-Profit.

During the program, students get opportunities for self-improvement and networking while learning to master global business administration from Germany’s most international business faculty, the school says.

ESMT Berlin was founded by 25 leading global companies and institutions. The international business school offers a full-time MBA, an executive MBA, a master’s in management, as well as open enrollment and customised executive education programs.

A private business school with the right to grant PhDs, ESMT Berlin is accredited by the German state, AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS, and FIBAA.
