Even the 1 crore maximum package claim is bogus. I have a friend in IIFT (whose name I cant share for obvious reasons), who told me that this package is for guys posted in Africa. And even in Africa, you only get something like 60 lakh rupees per annum. And the rest 40 lakhs is kept by the company in an insurance corpus fund. If and when you do get kidnapped in Africa, the insurance money will be spent by the company to get you freed. You yourself never get that money. But while showing your annual package, these companies include that 40 lakhs. And IIFT knows this fact, but doesnot want the public to know about it.
P.S.- I cant guarantee 100% about my friend’s claim.
