IIM Indore EPGP 2017-18 Batch Has 23% from Operational Management

The 1-year full-time Executive Post Graduate Program in Management (EPGP) 2017-18 batch at IIM Indore comprises 48 students, 42 male and 6 females.

The average age of the students is 32 years. They have an average industry experience of 9.2 years and international experience of 2.5 years.

As far as functional experience is concerned, 23% are from Operational Management, 17% IT Software & Product development, 11% Others, namely, Business Analytics, Design & Coordination, Health Care, Media, Quality Control, Risk Management and R & D.

Consulting constitutes 10% followed by Project Management (IT), Sales & Marketing and Business Management 7% each, Finance & Accounting and Project Management (Engineering) 6% each, Entrepreneur and Human Resources Management 3% each.

In Industry experience IT & ITES has a 28% share, followed by Manufacturing at 19%, Energy & Petroleum 9%, Automobile 8%, Consulting and BFSI & 7% each, FMCG/Retail and EPC 6% each and Telecom 3%.

The EPGP is equivalent to international MBA programs, attracting professionals with years of work experience who want to prepare themselves for leadership positions by developing a deeper understanding of various facets of management and sharpening their managerial skills during the program.

The eligibility norms for the program are that the candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any discipline. A valid CAT /GMAT score and a minimum 5 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience after graduation.

Spread over five academic terms in IIM Indore campus, the program features an International Immersion module at McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, Austin.

While the first three terms mostly compose of core courses with a focus on laying the foundation for the specialisation through a bundle of electives offered in the other terms. The last two terms are mostly electives and other experiential learning.

The International module provides an opportunity to develop an understanding of the global business environment and an ability to operate in a multicultural environment.

The teaching is imparted through a judicious mix of lectures, case discussions, project work, term papers, role-play, seminar presentations, assignments, management games, and simulations.

As far as placements are concerned, EPGP 2016-17 batch received an average salary of Rs 19.15 LPA (lakh per annum) with the highest offer at Rs 45 LPA.

The roles offered to the graduates included Vice President, Assistant Vice President, AGM,    Consultant, Assistant Consultant, Senior Manager and Chief Manager.

The major recruiters were ICICI Bank, Accenture, Wipro, Atos, Perceptive analytics, Genpact, Enquero, L&T Constructions, JCB, Jakson, AK capital, ShapoorjiPallonji, Tech Mahindra Gallup, Sarda Group, Ujaas energy, Cognizant, L&T Infotech, Infosys consulting and Capgemini.

  • The current batch is 2018-19 and I guess there are 65 students in that batch.
    Or are we sharing last year's batch statistics.
