IIM L IPMX Class of 2015 launched. Exclusive peek at batch stats!

IIM Lucknow has launched the Class of 2015 of the One year full time MBA Programme IPMX. The course which is now in its seventh year is the first globally accredited full time regular MBA at IIM L by virtue of its intake of talented professionals with on an average 8 years of work experience.

IIM Lucknow has launched the seventh batch of its one year full time MBA program IPMX (International Program in Management for Executives). The full time regular MBA programme is the first globally accredited MBA programme at IIM L thanks to its intake of students with a minimum of five years of work experience which is the average work experience of students in an MBA class across the globe. The programme consequently stands accredited as an MBA by the pre-eminent accreditation body Association of MBAs, UK.

The Class of 2015 consists of 67 talented professionals who have on an average 8 years of work experience in the corporate world. Of these students 49 students have on an average 20 months of international work experience.

Dr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow and Guest of Honor Dr. J. Philip, Director, XIME, a noted educationist and entrepreneur in the field of management and ex-Director of IIM Bangalore guided the incoming MBA class at the inauguration.

Dr. Devi Singh emphasized the need for integrity in today’s business world and its relevance across hierarchy, function and industries, and gave examples how a minor loss of integrity in the past can hamper one’s career prospects in the future. Dr. Philip went through several articles and anecdotes to make a point on globalization. He shared how the business world around us has changed and is still in continuous churning.

The IPMX Class of 2015 has a heterogeneous profile. The program attracts students from highly diverse backgrounds and this year’s mix of participants include professionals from management and IT  consulting, technology, automobiles, medicine and healthcare, media, banking, oil and gas, power, manufacturing and engineering, telecommunications, education, aviation and PSUs (Steel, Railways and Research).

Importantly, the IPMX Class comprises of 10% women participants. Most B-school in India are working hard to bring in more women into the MBA classroom. So it is encouraging to see IPMX’s stats: the percentage of women in the IPMX classroom is higher than that seen at some of the other top B-schools in India. IIM B’s One year MBA (EPGP) class of 2015, for instance,  has 8.5% women in the class. (Read more about it here:

The program is run from the sprawling new campus located in the industrial city of Noida. IIM Lucknow is the first IIM in India to have campuses at two different locations.

While IIM L has not revealed the placement statistics for its one-year MBA over the past few years, as per the institute, IPMX graduates are successfully placed in a wide range of middle and senior management functions including strategy, general management, operations, project management, consultancy and sales and marketing.
