IBSAT Exam Pattern: Everything you want to Know

ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test Pattern for this year is similar to the past year exam pattern. Nothing has been changed in the structure of the exam or scheme of marking. The question paper for IBSAT Exam this year includes four segments: Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and Reading Comprehension.

The mode of the exam will be computer-based. Here is everything you want to know about the pattern of IBSAT 2019 examination including details like marks, weightage, test sections and other important aspects.

Section 1: Verbal ability

This section consists of the maximum number of questions i.e. 50 in comparison to other sections. Verbal Ability section consists most of the major topics of English Language –Sentence formation, Grammar, Idioms, Vocabulary usage, Phrases, One-word substitution, Jumbled paragraphs and many others.

Section 2: Reading comprehension

The total number of questions in this section is 30 and these questions are based on Reading Comprehension passage. The difficulty of these questions is of normal to moderate level. The questions are in context with the information hidden in the passage. These questions can be attempted very easily.

Section 3: Quantitative Ability

The purpose of this section is to evaluate the skills of a candidate related to mathematics, mainly Arithmetic. These questions are of moderate difficulty level. To score well in this section, candidates need to solve as many practice sets as possible.

Section 4: Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation

This section consists of questions related to data interpretation (data analysis, data comparison, data trends etc.) as well as data sufficiency.

Q.Is there a provision of any negative marking in IBSAT Test?

A: No, there is not a provision of negative marking in IBSAT Test.


Q. Is it mandatory to follow a specific answering order in IBSAT exam?

A: No. Test-takers can attempt the questions in an order they want to do. There is nothing like a fixed order in which the questions should be answered.

Q. Is there any time limit defined for different sections in IBSAT 2019?

A: No. There is no such time limit defined for attempting different sections in IBSAT. Nevertheless, it is recommended to follow a self-defined timeline for different sections during the IBSAT exam. This will improve the efficiency of the test-taker.

Q. Can a candidate appear in the IBSAT exam using any computer?

A: No, the IBSAT examination cannot be attempted from any ordinary computer. The candidate needs to follow the instructions given in the Admit card.

Q. Can I carry a calculator in the IBSAT exam?

A: No. You are not allowed to carry a laptop or any other electronic devices to the IBSAT Exam centre.
