The 2-year part-time program offers 800 classroom instruction hours, during the evening hours or over the weekends to suit the convenience of busy professionals and business owners.

The class has 69 students from 17 cities. In terms of work experience, 42% of the cohort have notched up more than 10 years, 30% have 6-10 years and 28% have 3-5 years. Almost 70% of the students have a B.Tech degree.

The cohort is in the age group of 24-48 years with an equal number of 19 students in the 31-35 years and 36-40 years groups. The class has 61 male and 8 female students.

The first e-PGP batch started with 49 students that went up to 62 in 2018. The number of working professionals enrolled in the program has also gone up to 64 as compared to 56 in the previous batch.

e-PGP Program Schedule

The two-year post-graduate diploma program (with the added flexibility of completion in 3 years) is offered on an Interactive technology platform. With more than 850 hours of classroom sessions, it provides the students with leadership skills for the knowledge economy, through an innovative curriculum.

The classes are held from Thursday to Saturday in the evening from 06.45 pm-10.00 pm. On Sunday the timings are from 12.15 pm to 03.30 pm.

Hughes Global Education, an online learning solutions provider is the technology partner for the program that marked IIMA’s entry into online education. The company has set up 80 tech-enabled classrooms across 45 cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

The compulsory core courses will be dealt with during the first year, followed by a bouquet of elective courses in the second year. Three campus modules form an integral part of the program.

During the first year, the focus is on equipping the participants with managerial decision-making abilities; Leadership capabilities; Understanding of the functional areas of management; Understanding of the economic and regulatory trends; Varied analytical tools and techniques and General management orientation.

On completion of the core courses, each participant will need to choose electives in the various functional areas of Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Operations Management, Human Resource Management and IT Management, as well as cross-functional areas.

The teaching is highly interactive with a blend of lectures, case studies, online lectures, projects, peer to peer learning, self- learning and simulations. Mentoring by faculty and some access to learning resources of IIMA are also made available.

ePGP Admission Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the program should be graduates with at least 50% aggregate and a minimum of three years of work experience. They will have to appear for either GMAT, CAT or IIM Admission Test (IAT) the scores of which will be taken into consideration for admission.

PGP-ABA Program Details

IIM Ahmedabad, says with the deluge of digital data, data-driven decision making has now become an integral part of the efficient functioning of every organization, and the society at large. PGP-ABA will help executives acquire essential skills and knowledge to make the right decisions with the insights gained from the analysis of data.

The program will focus on building blended expertise in data “literacy”, data processing and business acumen. It offers a carefully thought out mix of courses on tools and techniques for data visualization, modelling and analysis of varieties of data of different sizes; machine learning algorithms, cloud computing.

It also imparts knowledge about the domain-specific applications of data analytics in marketing, HR, Finance, Operations and Public Policy. The participants would develop the skills required to package analysis output into business implications that can support decision making.

PGP-ABA Eligibility Criteria

Participants should have at least two years of experience, preferably in the domain of business analytics. No formal college-level technical or statistical expertise is required except a strong desire to learn how to use data for making an impact on the organization.

Participants should have a minimum of 2 years’ work experience preferably in the business analytics domain. The experience criterion may be waived for candidates with exceptional academic qualifications.

You should have an undergraduate degree and a valid GMAT / GRE / CAT / GATE or the PGP-ABA qualifying-cum-aptitude test score.

PGP-ABA Program Details

The PGP-ABA is a hybrid program, delivered using a mix of on-campus classroom sessions, online sessions, and project work. There will be three in-campus modules, each running for one-week duration. The online remote sessions will be delivered through study centers located in multiple cities. For the project work, the participants will visit the IIMA campus for two days.

The timing of the online sessions will provide flexibility to the working professional schedules. The course delivery pedagogy includes lectures, cases and hands-on exercises.

The concepts and state-of-the-art analytics practices will be introduced using lectures. Business cases will be also introduced at appropriate modules to discuss the complexity of business problems and how to make data-driven decisions using rigorous analysis.

Several sessions will provide hands-on data handling, data-driven simulation, and model development experience, which will prepare the participants to solve business problems in multiple domains and prepare participants to execute the capstone project with rigor. Equal emphasis will be laid on communicating the data insights with the organization.

The program begins on March 2020 with a pre-term online session. Exploratory Data Analysis will be delivered in classroom / online modes from April to June. Data Analysis Methods will be taught online from July to September. Model Development will take place in classroom/online modes in October-December. Model Communication will be held online from January-March 2021.

Domain-specific Analytics will take place in the classroom in April followed by a capstone project in classroom/online during May-July 2021.

Besides the faculty members engaged in cutting edge research and consulting in the domain of analytics, the program will also draw upon the strengths of industry experts and the extensive alumni network.

IIM Ahmedabad has released the placement report for the One Year MBA / MBA for Executives (Post Graduate Program for Executives – PGPX) Class of 2019 on August 6, 2019.

PGPX Program Details

The induction, spread over two and a half days, gives the students a chance to get familiar with the infrastructure, co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Next comes the core segment that provides them with a rigorous grounding in the fundamentals of management. It crystallizes and enhances their basic conceptual and analytical knowledge.

The third segment, preparing for top management, is the differentiating element of the PGPX that further develops the students’ skills, enabling them to better understand and envision the dynamics within complex management problems. It also prepares them for visionary leadership, being change agents and playing a role at the top.

The International Immersion is two intensive weeks of academics in an international location. It equips students with an understanding of macro-level dynamics and unfamiliar economic environment in a foreign country.

A wide range of elective courses is on offer including marketing, finance, supply chain management, strategic management and various sectors. While electives depend on student interest and faculty supply, it allows students the freedom of choice allowing customization.

As part of the ‘electives’ segment, students can opt for an Individual Research Project (IRP). It is executed by PGPX participants with a faculty advisor. The result is a high quality written output, which could be a case with analysis, an Industry Note, a paper on “Bridging the Divide” (focusing on a socio-economic divide affecting the world) or a business plan for an entrepreneur.

The Capstone project provides an opportunity to integrate learning from the entire program, reflect on one’s own experience as an executive and understand what it means to work in large, multidisciplinary teams facing tough deadlines.

The core courses are Financial Reporting and Analysis, Designing Organizations, Decision Sciences, Competition and Strategy, Managerial Economics, Macroeconomics, Operations Management, Corporate Finance, Managing People & Performance in Organizations, Marketing Management, Corporate Governance & Ethics, Entrepreneurial Management and Business Law.

The electives comprise Corporate Strategy and Policy, Economics and Social Sciences, Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management, Decision Sciences and Information systems, Entrepreneurial Learning, Finance and Accounting, Marketing, Production and Operations Management.

Term four of the EPGP is devoted to the International Immersion module which is designed to give students an opportunity to broaden learning and deepen knowledge about an increasingly globalized economic environment.

Structured around a visit to an emerging economy such as China, Russia, Brazil and South Africa or a developed one in Europe or in the Asian region like Singapore or South Korea, the module provides insights into the country’s economic, social, political and cultural life.

During the 2-week international immersion, the class is hosted by one of the top local business schools.  They attend lectures on the country’s economy and society with specific emphasis on issues affecting business and industry; go on field visits to local plants and corporate offices; meet business and government leaders; attend cultural events and visit historical sites to help them understand the intricacies of the country.

Fees & Other Expenses

The Program Fee for PGPX 2019-20 is Rs 25,00,000. It includes tuition fees, books and course materials, accommodation, food charges (for those who are staying in SSH) and other service facilities such as the library, computing, network changes etc.

However, the cost of International Immersion Programme (IIP) is calculated separately. Utilities such as electricity, telephone, laundry, sports/gym subscription are additional and to be paid as per usage charges.
