What is Vedica Scholars Program for Women?

As per the B-School, The Vedica Scholars Program for Women is a unique alternative to the traditional MBA Program. The Program’s mission is to prepare women with the potential to achieve fulfilling careers and create a cadre of successful women professionals for the 21st century. It is an 18-month full-time, residential Program with a re-imagined multidisciplinary curriculum that has been carefully crafted to the expectations of employers today. The Program is a combination of classroom learning, hands-on work experience, and mentoring and coaching by some of the most inspiring academics and professionals of our times. A post-graduate certificate in Management Practice and Leadership is awarded on successful completion of the Program.

As per the B-School, each cohort at the Vedica Scholars Program for Women reflects India’s rich cultural tapestry. The Class of 2019 represents different cultural and linguistic backgrounds — the largest proportion is from the National Capital Region, followed by Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Assam, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand have also enriched our current cohort.

Eligibility

As per the B-School, achievement-oriented women with a graduate degree and a desire to excel professionally are eligible to apply for the Vedica Scholars Program for Women. Vedica welcomes applications from both fresh graduates and women with work experience.

Admission process

As per the official website of Vedica, the selection of a Vedica Scholar will be finalized after a series of evaluative steps. Applicants must submit an application form including personal and professional details. Each aspect of the application and the interview is important and will help the Vedica panel make their decision. Candidates will be assessed for their verbal, written and analytical skills, their attitude and aptitude to benefit from the unique learning experience at Vedica. There is no application fee.

For applying online, you need to register first. Then log in using your account details. Follow the steps mentioned in order to fill the application form and submit.

After receiving the completed applications, the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the Vedica Panel. We review completed applications on a rolling basis. Preference will be given to early applicants.

Fee & Scholarship

As per the B-School, the Vedica Scholarship is awarded on a needs- and merit-based assessment that takes into account personal circumstances and financial backgrounds. The consolidated fee (tuition+boarding) for the Program is INR 13,00,000. Every Scholar admitted to the Program is awarded the Vedica Tuition Bursary of INR 2,75,000 in anticipation of her potential as a future leader. Effective fee for the Class of 2020 is INR 10,25,000 excluding applicable taxes.

Course Structure

According to the B-Scool, this course is designed with inputs from individuals with expertise and insights into higher education, management practice, the liberal arts and women’s studies, the program offers a unique and unparalleled mix of study to prepare you for a successful career.

The Vedica Scholars Program for Women is a course for the collaborative and conscious professional. The four converging tracks that define the distinctiveness of the program are:

Mastering Management Practices:

The ‘Mastering Management Practice’ track will offer courses in marketing, strategy, operations, innovation, organizational behavior, accounting, finance, business planning, business ethics, problem-solving, decision making, supply chains, network businesses, sales, collaboration, and women’s entrepreneurship.

Learning from the Liberal Arts

The ‘Learning from the Liberal Arts’ track will offer courses in micro and macroeconomics, comparative politics, sociology, history, psychology, women’s studies, development, international relations, public policy – design and impact, India’s rich cultural heritage, world religions, cinema studies, philosophy and literature.

Thinking and Communicating for Impact

The ‘Communicating and Thinking for Impact’ track will offer courses in different aspects of thinking such as logic, analysis and structure; and in communications such as written, oral and visual communication skills. This will include business writing, drafting reports and proposals, presentation skills, social media and external engagement including blogging, the art of conversations, listening and asserting, visibility and public speaking, and finally interviewing skills.

Taking charge of personal growth

The ‘Taking Charge of Personal Growth’ track will offer courses in understanding yourself through a series of personality and psychometric assessments at the beginning of the Program. Other courses will include leading the self, leading others and leading change, collaborative leadership and the skills required for it, influencing without authority, group dynamics and followership, building trust, the mind of a leader, and an entire module dedicated to the new wisdom around women’s leadership and what it takes to succeed as a woman professional. This course track will be conducted in strategic partnership with OD Alternatives, an organizational development consultancy focusing on transformation of organizations and communities using behavioral skills knowledge
