Admissions Process

Admission into the program is based on the following:

  • Academic Performance
  • Work Experience & its quality
  • CAT/ GMAT/ EMAT Entrance Exam Score
  • Performance in Personal Interview

Applicants can seek to qualify for the personal interview by taking any one of the following examinations: CAT / GMAT / EMAT.

Applicants with a valid GMAT score* (Minimum 650 Score) or CAT exam score* (Minimum 75 percentile) will be directly considered for the interview. Such applicants are not required to take EMAT examination.

*Note: Test score obtained should not be older than one year from the date of EMAT-2019 (i.e. November 23, 2019).

All the eligible applicants are required to produce the original educational & experience certificates/ documents for verification on the date of Personal Interview.

Typically, EMAT exam & Personal Interview are conducted on the same day and candidates will be asked to come for EMAT exam/ Personal Interview on any one of the 2 days scheduled (November 23 or 24, 2 0 1 9 ). Applicants need to provide the acknowledgment of their availability for attending the EMAT exam/ Personal Interview on both the days. Applicants who do not attend the EMAT Exam/ Personal Interview as per time-slot communicated will not be considered for further selection process.

Executive Management Aptitude Test (EMAT)

Executive Management Aptitude Test (EMAT) is organized to evaluate the numerical, verbal and logical ability of the applicants, which are the keys for successful completion of the program. All the applicants for the MBA (for working) executive program are required to take the EMAT test, which will be conducted at the selected centers by IIMK. The test is designed and evaluated by the IIMK.

The course (topics) for the EMAT exam will be similar to the CAT exam. However, In addition to question on numerical, data interpretation and verbal skills, candidates will also be asked the questions on logical reasoning. The duration of the exam will be of 1 hr, consisting of 3 separate sections:

  • Verbal Ability
  • Numerical ability & Data Interpretation
  • Logical Reasoning

Each section will have 20 questions. Questions may differ from each other in terms of marks weight-age and may also carry negative mark for incorrect answer.
