SJMSOM Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process
For the MBA program, you should have a four-year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 60% marks in the aggregate (55% for those in SC/ST category) or a minimum 6.5 CPI (6 for SC/ST category) out of 10. Those who have CA/ICWA qualifications with the above-mentioned scores are also eligible to apply Those shortlisted by the admission committee will be called for a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Those in the list should book the slots for WAT and PI as soon as the shortlist is released. Points to Remember- For MBA admission, scores of a standardized aptitude test like CAT. The admission committee evaluates the academic and other achievements of the candidates. The shortlisted applicants are invited to appear for a Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) before the final offer of admission.
- For Executive MBA, you should be a graduate with a minimum of seven years of work experience and five years in a managerial position.
- E-MBA admission is based on marks scored in graduation and evaluation of the candidate’s performance in the personal interview.
- For PhD in management, Master’s degree in any discipline with relevant work experience is required
- Aspirants applying for the PhD program also required to have a valid score in CAT / GATE or GRE

SJMSOM IIT Bombay Admission 2020: MBA program
Applicants for MBA program should sit for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs. The shortlisting of candidates for the next stage of admission process, WAT and PI will be done on the basis of CAT scores.- Candidates should note that the IIMs that conduct CAT play no role in the candidates’ selection at SJMSOM. However, WAT and PI are conducted by SJMSOM.
- Those in the final year graduation are eligible to apply. They should have cleared the minimum eligibility requirements at the time of joining the program.

MBA/EMBA at SJMSOM: A Step-by-Step Application Process
Step I: Visit the official website viz. http://www.som.iitb.ac.in/ and press the tab MBA Admissions- Passport size photograph (jpg/jpeg/png only) with size
- Signature (jpg/ jpeg/png only) with size
- Graduation Certificate/ copy of latest semester mark sheet (for students appearing for the final semester or yet to receive Graduation Certificate). This should be PDF only with size
- Caste certificate, If applicable (PDF only with size)
- Physically disabled certificate for applicants with disability (PDF only with size)
- CAT 2019 scorecard (PDF only with size)
Documents to be uploaded with the application form
- Scanned copy of signature and photograph
- Mark sheet of the last semester/consolidated mark sheet of the qualifying degree. Applicants awaiting result have to upload the mark-sheet of their latest or previous semester.
- Caste Certificate (OBC-NC/ SC/ ST), if applicable.
- If the certificate is yet to be received, an affidavit stating it
- PwD Certificate/ sponsorship certificate, if applicable.
- Research proposal (if applicable), as a single file irrespective of the number of disciplines.
- The application fee for women/SC/ST and PWD candidates is Rs 150 and Rs 300 for others.

Q: What are the sectional cut off for MBA at SJMSOM?A: Sectional cut off has become applicable for admission from the latest MBA batch 2020-22. Please see the table below for the particulars:

A: PhD program applications are accepted twice in a year, during the Autumn semester (July session) and spring semester (January session).
A: The evaluation is based on the academic achievements and a 1500-word research proposal. After this, the candidates sit for an entrance test (an aptitude test comprising English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Reasoning and Data Interpretation). Next, they appear for an interview. Both the entrance test and interview are usually held on the same day. Those selected will get the intimation through email.
Yes, the PhD program accepts valid GMAT/GRE scores. No minimum score level is set for the program.
A: The PhD students get the stipend in accordance with the MHRD/ UGC guidelines. Full-time research scholars (Teaching Assistance (TA) category) are entitled to Rs 25,000 per month during the first 2 years and Rs 28,000/ month for next 3 years subject to fulfillment of required criteria as prescribed by funding institute/ department/ agency.
A: Yes, scholarships are available for students on the basis of the performance in the semester exams. Around 20% of the students claim scholarships from several endowment funds. Apart from these, some other scholarships are available centrally from IIT-B. SC and ST candidates are exempted from paying the tuition fees.
