Final Placement for the 2017-19 MBA batch comprising 109 students at the Shailesh J Mehta School of Management at IIT Bombay saw the average CTC go up by six percent to Rs 20.8 lakh from Rs 19.06 LPA in the previous year.The median salary package rose to Rs 20.3 lakh. The highest CTC was pegged at Rs 32.4 lakh, the same as in the previous year. The number of PPO/PPI stood at 52.

As many as 41 firms including 8 new recruiters came with 68 offers.  They included Accenture, GEP, Flipkart, IBM, Google, Mondelez, Procter & Gamble, Nestle and Tata Global Beverages. Meanwhile, PwC was the biggest recruiter in the consulting domain.A large share of the firms recruitment wasin management consulting.

SJMSOM IIT Bombay Sector-wise Placement 2019 

BFSI

Major recruiters in the BFSI sector came up with lucrative job offers. The profiles included roles in Global Finance, Business Analyst, Internal Audit, Financial Operations, Liabilities, Product Efficiency and Product Management.

The employers include ICICI Bank, Goldman Sachs, Nomura, Yes Bank, RBL Bank and Maybank. 

FMCG/FMCD

Asian Paints, Johnson & Johnson, Mondelez, Britannia, Nestle, Marico, Pidilite and Proctor & Gamble were among the FMCG/FMCD firms that cam up with job offers in Operations, IT, Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain Management.

The employers include Asian Paints, Britannia, Johnson & Johnson, Mondelez Marico, Nestle’, Proctor & Gamble, 

Pidilite.

Consulting and IT

Consulting and IT saw the highest number of participants in the domain. PwC came up with the largest number of jobs in Management Consulting.

Other major recruiters included Accenture, Google, Capgemini, IBM, Hitachi, GEP, ValueLabs and Wipro. 

Manufacturing & Conglomerate

The institute register participation from a good number of companies in the manufacturing that continued their successful relationship with the institute by hiring aggressively during the final placement season.

Major recruiters in Manufacturing & Conglomerate sector were Cummins, Piramal, ACG Worldwide, Whirlpool and Tata Motors. 

Healthcare & Others

Healthcare and logistics sectors maintained the high tempo of hiring set in the previous year. Major recruiters included Maersk and Cochlear. The students were offered roles in Strategy, Business Development, Sales & Marketing and Commercial. The hospitality sector saw OYO Rooms coming up with job offers in Operations.

Summer Placements 2020

Summer placement for the 2018-20 batch saw a 23.8%rise in the average stipend at Rs 1.77 LPA. The highest stipend was reported at Rs 3 LPA.
