MBA-EX program

The one-year full-time residential program is meant for Executives with more than five years of professional experience. It provides mid-career professionals with the ideal platform to augment their existing skill to aid them in the race for senior and top management roles in the industry.

The class, according to IIMC, comprises an eclectic mix of youth and experience. The Institute holds learning beyond the classroom as an important facet. “While case discussions enrich the practical experience of unraveling real-life business puzzles, informal discussions on varied topics from thoughtfully chosen adjunct readings broaden individual perspectives,” it says.

The immersion program helps future business leaders hone their skills while tackling real-world challenges. Individuals also make time to participate in business case competitions, branding exercises and self-interest career advancement clubs.

Application Schedule

The schedule for downloading the online Application form in Round 1 is June 1 with the deadline on September 15. The announcement of short-listed candidates will take place in the second half of September. Their interview will be held on October 19-20 and the names of those selected announced in the first half of November. The last date of acceptance and payment of commitment fees is in the first half of December (3 weeks from the declaration of results).

The process in Round 2 starts on September 16 with the application deadline on November 15. The announcement of short-listed candidates will be in the second half of November. The candidate interviews will take place on December 21-22. The names of those selected will be released in the first half of January 2020. The last date of acceptance and payment of commitment fees will be in the first half of February (3 weeks from the declaration of results).

Registration of students for the 14th Batch of MBA-EX will be on April 16 and the program will commence on April 17, 2020. A candidate can apply only once in an academic year.

How to fill up the application form

Make sure you have all the required information and scanned copies of the original documents with you before proceeding to complete the application process. Note that file size cannot exceed 5MB.

  1. Scanned copy of passport size color photo not older than six months (maximum 500 KB)
  2. Scanned copies of transcripts of all examinations passed till date.

Please note that photographs and other documents will be uploaded and saved only after you click the “Save and Continue” or “Save and Come Back Later” button. On clicking the “Back and Edit” button you should be able to see the uploaded photo and /or files.

For switching over to any subsequent Step, without completing the current Step, just hover and click over the desired Step to access it. Do not follow the “save & continue” button, or the application portal will not allow you to move on to any other step.

  1. Name and contact information of two Referees who will provide the letter of Recommendation. A referee could be your mentor/supervisor from the last company you have worked for or by someone from the industry who is familiar with your professional achievements or a Professor or Teacher from a recent degree program you have completed who knows you well.

You will be solely responsible to ensure that the person you have mentioned provides the referral. Once you provide the referee name and email in the respective step and click “Save & Continue” button, related referral automated mails containing the links will be sent to the respective referees.

Please add [email protected] to the address book of your email account (provided to us/set as your user ID) and mark it as ‘not spam’ for receiving future emails from this address in your Inbox. This will prevent the security setting of your email service provider from reading the automated system fired mail as “spam” and blocking it.

Referees will also receive automated emails. Kindly ensure that they do the same for their email accounts sent to us. In case you are using your company’s email account kindly talk to your systems administrator regarding the security setting of your company’s email server. Also set [email protected] as “safe/not spam”.

You will be solely responsible for ensuring that the application form duly completed in all respect (including referrals) reaches IIMC by the due date. An application which is incomplete in any way will not be evaluated.

You will not be able to make any changes to the Application once it is submitted.  You should “Preview” the application very carefully once it is completed before submitting it. The System will allow you to “Preview” the application multiple times before you “Submit” it.

You will be required to make a Payment of Rs 2000 (Non-refundable) for Indian nationals and US$ 100 (Non-refundable) for NRI/Foreign Nationals/Applications sent from outside India towards Application Fees to complete the application process.

You may make the payment online by Debit/Credit Card or using the Net Banking facility. If you wish to pay through the Net banking facility check the list of available banks through which you can make an electronic fund transfer.

Alternately you may also make your payment through a Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque drawn in favour of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and payable at Kolkata, India. You will have to provide the cheque/draft information and upload a scanned copy of the same along with your application to successfully complete the process.

You will be provided with an interim report on the payment status immediately. However, your application will be evaluated and you will be considered for the next step in the application process only when a final Confirmation Report is received from our Banker indicating that the payment has gone through successfully. You will be informed regarding this by email within two working days.

Please carry a hard copy of the application form at the time of interview. Your interview will remain incomplete if a copy of the application form is not available with you at that time.
