Admissions are open at the University Of Western Australia Business School for the 1-year Full-time MBA intensive program with classes starting on January 14, 2019.

Located in Perth, UWA is the only business school in Western Australia and one of 8 in the country to be internationally accredited through EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) and AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).

The program orientation will take place from January 7-11 and classes will begin on January 14. The application window remains open till December 1, 2018.

While offers for the MBA FT will be made on a rolling basis throughout the year, scholarships will be awarded at each round. Round 1 deadline is on July 1, 2018, Round 2 on September 20 and Round 3 on October 21.

More than AUD $500,000 in scholarships are available to Australian and international candidates.

Some scholarships are reserved for female and Indigenous students. Industry-sponsored scholarships provide additional networking opportunities.

How to apply

You have to fill up the application form and submit online at https://study.uwa.edu.au. Your GMAT  Scores are to be sent directly to the School with GMAT code number DSL-QR-84. GMAT scores are valid for five years from the date you take the test so if you have already taken the test, please ensure that your GMAT score is still valid.

High-quality colour scans of original documents are to be uploaded into the application portal prior to assessment along with supporting documentation. These are Proof of citizenship (passport and visa if necessary); birth certificate or Australia Citizenship certificate; curriculum vitae (CV).

A Personal Statement is to be submitted with evidence of academic English language skills; Two Referee Reports and Academic transcripts. You will not be considered for admission until a complete application has been submitted.

Eligibility Criteria

You should have an approved bachelor’s degree and meet the University’s English language competency requirements. At least 3 years’ relevant work experience is needed or two years’ relevant work experience and a GMAT score of at least 650.

Your Personal Statement is a major part of the application. It should address the following questions in 1,000 words or less: What are your short-term and long-term career goals and are there particular sectors that you would like to work in? How will an MBA help you to achieve these goals? What steps have you already taken to help you achieve these career goals? What can you contribute to the MBA cohort and UWA Business School? How have you demonstrated leadership in your professional and personal life (provide specific examples)?

You have to choose two referees who are required to provide information about how long they have known the candidate, in what capacity, whether the candidate has outstanding leadership potential, excellence in pursuit of personal or professional goals, interpersonal skills, communication skills (written, oral).

The MBA Program

The School says the program, with 12 months of intensive study, stresses on direct industry-project involvement and a full cohort experience. UWA also has deep industry connections enabling the students to participate in a real-life business advisory project and master classes with business executives.

Students also participate in a domestic study tour as also in Careers and recruitment events. Case studies and practical learning also form part of the curriculum. For personalised leadership development, a Leadership Development Program has been developed in collaboration with UWA’s School of Psychology.
