A Bevy of Master’s Programs in Business at Surrey Business School

The University of Surrey’s Business School offers a bevy of Master’s programs in Business, ranging from Accounting & Finance to Business Analytics to Investment Management and several others. These courses are a good option for those who want to acquire knowledge in specific areas compared to a more general MBA program.

A majority of the programs are of one-year duration. The school says that the courses are “both academically rigorous and practically relevant.” They make extensive use of guest speakers from business and industry and the school’s own research.

The students get the opportunity to broaden the scope of their study, through exchange programs, Professional Training placements, or by turning theory into practice through the school’s various Student Enterprise schemes.

The Accounting & Finance MSc. is a 1-year full-time program starting in October 2018. Surrey says the course provides students with a solid understanding of financial and management accounting systems used around the world and their application for decision-making.

The participants will also get a complete introduction to financial theory through a study of the challenges of investing capital. They will become acquainted with econometric techniques and undertake a substantial course in the foundations of accounting and finance.

The program’s core modules rigorously address the relevant theory, in addition to the quantitative techniques needed to understand the literature and undertake empirical investigations.

UnThe Business Analytics MSc program is a 1-year full-time course that enables students to gather knowledge about Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data. The program focuses on two key areas: analysing business data, and solving business challenges analytically.

Optional modules allow students to further specialize in areas such as the economic, managerial or finance aspects of the subject.

They also get the opportunity to use artificial intelligence to improve a chess game, game theory to create games, and computational intelligence with genetic algorithms.

As far as fees are concerned, UK/EU citizens have to pay £12,000 and international students  £20,500. It works out to be cheaper when compared to the full-time MBA that costs £24,000 for both UK/EU and international students.(Image Source:google.com)
