Class of 2019 At Alliance Manchester Has 53% Asian Representation

Asia has an impressive 53% representation in the Class of 2019 at Alliance Manchester Business School comprising 111 students.

As many as 30 nationalities find representation in the class. The average age of the cohort is 29. The students have an average work experience of 6 years. Females form 40% of the class.

The school takes pride in its ability to attract management students from all over the world. “This is a great opportunity to build global connections, explore new ways of doing business and develop a cultural awareness that will be indispensable to your future career,” it says on the program website.

Of the students, 25% are from Eastern Asia, 19% Latin America, 19% Latin America, 14% South East Asia, 14% India & Southern Asia, 8% Middle East, 7% United Kingdom, 5% North America, 4% Africa, 3% Europe and 1% Oceania.

Interestingly, the full-time MBA at Alliance Manchester offers the students the flexibility to complete the program in 12, 15 or 18 months. It also attracts candidates with a wide range of industry experience from aerospace and advertising to energy and entrepreneurship.

Such a diversified cohort is of help to those looking to progress in an existing industry or aiming for a total career change.

July to August, those who chose the 12-months option would complete an International Business Project and an elective or business simulation project before concluding the program in September.

The Class of 2018 had 22% from Banking & finance, 11% Energy & utilities, 6% each in Consulting and Construction, 5% in Manufacturing, 4% each in Public sector, Engineering, Technology, IT, Automotive, Retail and Others.

Students also had work experience in Real estate and Consumer goods (3% each), Transportation/ logistics, Mining/raw materials, Research/education, Hospitality, Media/entertainment (2% each), 1% Healthcare/medical, Pharma/biotech, Advertising/PR, Arts/music, Electronics, Entrepreneur (1% each).

The program starts in September with the Core Courses common for all students. The students will learn about Leading and Managing in a Global Environment; Business Accounting and Finance; Strategy and Competition; Operations and Marketing; Skills for Leaders; Guest Speaker Series.

Along with the core courses, students will complete a Not-for-Profit Project and 1 elective (for 12/15 month cohort) from September to December.

January to March, along with the core course, they will participate in a Mergers & Acquisitions project. April to June will see the students get involved in a commercial business project along with the core courses.

July to August, those who chose the 12-months option would complete an International Business Project and an elective or business simulation project before concluding the program in September.

Along with professional skills and competencies, international exposure and entrepreneurial experience are valued. You should be a strong team player with excellent communication skills along with emotional intelligence and personal qualities.

Simulation in July-August and then complete the program with an International Business project in September-December.

The 18-month cohort will have to choose between an internship or 2 electives or elective plus Business Simulation in July-August.

Then from September to December, they will choose between one elective plus study tour or two electives or International Exchange. From January to April, they will conclude the program with an International Business Project.

All three cohorts would also participate in MBA+ that involves a suite of non-credit-bearing, extracurricular experiences including personalised career support, business clubs and competitions, social events and alumni services.(Image source:wikipedia.org)
