IMT’s PGDM (Executive), Accelerated 1-year MBA For Professionals

The PGDM (Executive) is a full-time 15-month program in the nature of an accelerated MBA aimed at high-performing professionals with work experience.

The AICTE approved AACSB accredited program is aimed at grooming experienced executives for a general management role in the functional domain with a global orientation and service focus.

In the fourth term of the course, participants will be asked to choose one from customized electives in Marketing Analytics, Information Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management,  Media & Entertainment Technology Management.

Among the highlights of the program is a four to six-week Global Career Accelerator (GCA), with specific customization focus, at one of IMTs European Partners is a highlight of the program. It also includes cutting-edge courses like Design Thinking, Cross-Cultural Business Negotiations, Data Modelling, Execution, Critical Thinking and Personal Branding, to name a few.

Specific workshops are held with the objective of skill building, like six sigma and project management, in line with a career objective of the participants. A personal growth lab and an assessment centre to help them understand their areas of strength and development.

The curriculum is designed in 6 phases, namely, Foundation, Functional, Internationalization, Customization, Integration and Dissertation. Customization is available in the areas of Marketing Analytics, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Information Management and Media & Entertainment Management.

At the final placement for the 16th graduating batch (2016-17), the average CTC was Rs 14.66 lakh, recording a growth of 77%. The highest CTC was Rs 21 lakh and the lowest Rs 12 lakh.

The program provides participants with the opportunity of a social immersion as a part of the sustainability and social responsibility course. It has self-learning Harvard online modules, with a certificate of completion.

The advanced courses are offered under the compulsory Global Career Acceleration (GCA), an innovative initiative which takes the entire batch to Europe for a month to study in globally recognized universities.

It also has a strong industry and alumni interface with a course on contemporary issues in management offered by leading industry practitioners. It allows the participants an opportunity to debate and discuss the current issues in the field.

Based on the philosophy of ‘Knowing by Doing’ the programme architecture has outcome-centred elements of knowledge, skills and attitude are built into the program through various courses, workshops, simulations, field projects and experiential learning social immersions.

The learning and pedagogy experience encompasses a broad range of learning techniques including case studies, simulations, real-life projects, debates, discussions with senior executives of organizations, start-ups and consulting projects, courses and workshops.

Communication and Negotiation Workshop are the other distinct features of the Program.

Applicants to the program that starts in October every year should be graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate and around five years’ work experience after graduation. Test scores of CAT/XAT/GMAT are accepted.

Class Profile

The average age of the students in current batch (2016-17) is 29 years with an average work experience of 6.5 years.

As far as work experience is concerned, 43% of the students have 5-6 years of experience, 36% have 6-7 years and 21% more than 7 years.

In breakup by specialisation, IT comprise 50%, Operations 43%, Finance and HR, 7% each. In Industrial experience, IT has a share of 43% followed by Steel 21%, Construction and Power 14%, Textile, Automobile and Smart Energy 7% each.

Placement Statistics

The offers came from companies such as HCL, Infosys, Vedanta, Trident Group, Grey Orange and KPMG among others.

Students with relevant experience of 5 to 7 plus years were successful in bagging leadership roles. While 83% received offers with the shift in roles, 25% were able to shift the industry. More than 90% received job offers.
