ISB alum led venture WIT acquired by Saxon Global

US-based Saxon Global Inc, a provider of IT consulting and solution engineering services, has acquired Bangalore-based mobility solutions firm Wit Innovation Technologies Pvt Ltd (WIT) for an undisclosed amount. One of the two founders of the company is Vibhor Gupta, who graduated from the One year MBA (PGP) at Indian School of Business in 2005.

WIT Innovation focuses on enterprise mobility and offers solutions customised for verticals including hospitality, education, media, entertainment, travel and healthcare. The company provides mobile app development, mobile website and mobile testing services to its clients. It has worked with clients across 16 countries and has built products for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phones. The company counts HP, Simplilearn, VConnect, DabKick, Gourmet Society among its clients.

WIT was founded in 2006 by Sachin Garg (CEO) and Vibhor Gupta (COO). A B.Tech from IIT Varanasi, Garg is also CEO of MinT Loyalty Services. He had earlier worked at Cisco, Intel Corp and Symbol Technologies. His partner Gupta holds a MBA degree from Indian School of Business (Hyderabad), and had earlier worked at Wipro, Cognizant and Infosys.

The company says this acquisition will allow them to offer better integrated IT solutions for customers in Big Data and Mobile apps segment. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The company had earlier acquired a big data and web intelligence solution firm Ideas Software and Consulting Pvt. Ltd (ISAC Global) in December 2013.

“As a lot of our long-time customers started to demand several services in emerging technologies like Business Intelligence and cloud apart from enterprise mobility, we thought it may be best to merge with a company which can help fulfill our customers’ need and we found a perfect match in Saxon Global. With these added services, size and presence across the globe, we are looking forward to provide even more value to our existing customers and add new customers,” said Garg.

Saxon Global said that this acquisition will enable it to offer enhanced IT solutions that target customers’ needs in Big Data and mobile applications. The deal also adds a list of clients to Saxon Global’s client portfolio as well as the opportunity to expand client relationships in financial services, healthcare, media and hospitality & entertainment.

In December 2012, Saxon Global had acquired Bangalore-based Ideas Software and Consulting Pvt Ltd (ISAC Global), a boutique big data and web intelligence solutions firm for an undisclosed amount.
