The Global MBA of SP Jain School of Global Management (SP Jain) which was ranked in the Top 10 last year in the Forbes Top 10 ranking of 1-year MBA programs has been ranked at the 16th spot this year.

SP Jain was the only school of Indian-origin to be ranked in the world’s top ten by Forbes in its Best International MBAs: One-Year Program rankings (2015-16).

The school with campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney (not to be confused with Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan’s SPJIMR, Mumbai) was ranked at number 10 last year. Forbes’ biennial ranking of the world’s best business schools is based on a survey of the return on investment (RoI) achieved by graduates.

In the latest ranking, based on the RoI achieved by graduates from the Class of 2012, the school had a fall across several parameters including salary, 5-year return and average GMAT.

SP Jain offers a One Year Full-Time MBA (Global MBA) for candidates with more than 3 years work experience and a pre-experience 16 Month Masters in Business Management (Masters in Global Business) for candidates with less than 3 years of work experience, among other programs.

In the 2015 rankings, based on a survey of the RoI achieved by graduates from the Class of 2010, SP Jain had the highest job acceptance rate. Three months after graduation 97% of its class found employment. The alumni saw a median $51,800 gain on their investment five years post-MBA.

However, in the latest ranking, based on the RoI achieved by graduates from the Class of 2012, the school had a fall across several parameters including salary, 5-year return and average GMAT.

SP Jain alumni recorded a 5-year gain of $45,600, a payback period of 3 years, the pre-MBA salary of $9,000, post-MBA salary of $50,000 in 2016, tuition of $43,000 and GMAT score of 650.

Among other statistics, the school has an annual enrolment of 124. Out of the total 1,018 applicants, 12% was accepted. The median work experience is 5.5 years. The in-country cost is $43,395 and out-of-country cost $43,395.

Employment after graduation was 100% with a median base salary of $ 30,100.

However, considering that the course fee is very low with only two schools, 11th ranked Lancaster School of Management with $37,000 and 17th ranked HEC Montreal at $27,000, pegging the tuition lower than SP Jain, the RoI looks good. But the pre-MBA salary too is the lowest in the list at $9000 and when compared to its peers, the 5 year gains are low.
