How the PGDM (Executive) Program Structure Helps Learning

How do these help students?

The foundation is laid at the beginning of the program with students learning the basic management principles through the core subjects. Customization allows the students the freedom to choose a specialization by way of electives. While the PGDM (Executive) is essentially a General Management Program, in the fourth term, you get to pick one from among four specializations. These are Marketing, Information Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management and Human Resources Management.

Past participants are full of praise for the choice of specializations. Ravi Purohit, 30, (2017-18 batch) a B.Tech (Mechanical) engineer with six years’ work experience in elevator industries and auto/auto ancillary units. He chose Marketing Analytics as an elective. He says learning at IMT had broadened his horizons, improved his decision making and helped him connect the dots in how management decisions affect the various stakeholders right from Finance to HR to Supply Chain and vendors.

It is not a mere theory that is being taught in the classroom. Functional aspects are taken care of by involving students in a wide range of industrial projects all the way from planning to execution.

There are also personal growth labs & assessment centres for better understating of own self, strength & development path. A number of in campus activities such as “IMTheInnovator” a Startup Exhibition, Expanding Horizons, an industry interaction and Personal Growth Lab, help in honing the student’s skills and boost their confidence when called upon to take complex decisions in their future career. Every student is required to submit a dissertation in the last term of the program. Working on the dissertation thus becomes an integral part of the learning experience.
